Real Creationists
Dear Dad:
I continue to be appalled at how you conservative white guys can still
dare to publicly show your callousness toward anyone who is not like you.
You come out all the time trashing the people and the institutions that try
to educate the people as to how we have all evolved from the same animal
ancestors, and therefore no man should have a right to think he is greater
than another man. Only the liberals understand what equality is all about.
The exclusiveness of your brand of Christianity is a sickness we need to be
healed of. So there!
Proud Darwinner
Dear Proud:
Yeah, I am just a callous old bird. I am amazed at how easily most of the
world is so dazzled by crummy metaphysics posing as science, and wreaking
havoc on society, and getting away with it.
Do you have no idea what has been done in the name of Darwin? How the
wishful thinking that man was not created, specially, by an all powerful God
leads to the most terrible oppression the world has ever seen? Aborigines
down under slaughtered by the newly arriving white men -- just shot for sport.
Black slaves gathered out of Africa. Jews herded up in Nazi German times.
Babies in the womb now in America and most of the world only considered human
if convenient.
A few years ago I was teaching a rather extensive series on the effects
of evolutionism on society. A friend of mine was a part time pastor of a
very small church in my town. A "Black" church if you will. Only
Negro members. He asked me to teach my series at his church. And for 8
Wednesday nights I did just that. The first few nights were rather strained.
No one much responded to any of my questions, or asked anything on their
own. I asked my friend, the pastor, if I was doing something wrong.
"Not at all," he said, "you just have to realize that it has been 67 years
since a white man has spoken from that pulpit. These people are coming here
because they trust me as their pastor. Keep on talking truth to them."
The next Wednesday night he got up during my talk and
illustrated one of my points with a personal story. It seems that when he
was a young man in the Army, stationed in Germany, on several occasions while
walking down the street he was hailed by German youth, driving by and
shouting "Hey, Monkey Man, pull down your pants and let us see your tail!"
These folks understand some things better than any of us honkies.
Count me in with the tiny minority of real Creationists. Sinners we all
are. But I am confident the Creator knows who I am. That is how I know who
He is. It's a spiritual thing.
Daddy.
