Clayton Waagner Visited Me Today
To the Editor:
The back doorbell of my home in Georgia rang shortly before noon today. As I went to
the door, my dog freaked out as usual. Through the large window in the door I saw a
friendly looking man I did not recognize. He said, "You're Neal Horsley. I've seen
your picture on the Internet. I've read everything you've written and I really
appreciate what you're doing for the babies."
I smiled, opened the door and stepped outside, leaving the dog inside complaining
loudly.
The man thrust out his right hand and said, "I just wanted to shake your hand." I
shook his hand.
After spending the minimum amount of time and saying the minimum amount of
pleasantries to show the man that I appreciated his support, the man left.
As I was going back inside, the phone rang. As I answered the phone I looked out the
front window. I had a glimpse of what I assumed was the rear of the man's car as it
went out of sight underneath some trees near my front lawn.
An hour or so later, I was sitting in my office when I noticed my dog's ears perk up.
I turned to look at the door to my office just as the form of a man filled the
doorway. In one motion, he pulled back his coat to show me a large holstered firearm
while simultaneously he commanded me to hold the dog.
I obeyed.
It was the man I had talked to earlier at the back door.
"You don't recognize me, do you." he stated, and then stopped.
"No, I don't."
"I'm Clay Waagner."
I stared at him for a few long seconds, then I said disbelievingly, "You're Clay
Waagner."
I knew a lot about Clayton Waagner. I knew he had been on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted
List for months; I knew he had been spotlighted on America's Most Wanted on numerous
occasions; and I knew that at this time when America is taking terrorists Dead or
Alive all over the world, Clay Waagner was touted as the most hunted man in America
because he was a bona fide Domestic Terrorist. I knew all that about Clay Waagner
because I have been an abortion abolitionist for years and Clay Waagner's particular
terrorist target happened to be abortionists and those who make their living working
at abortion clinics.
At that moment, as I looked into Clay Waagner's eyes, I also knew one other thing: my
life was about to change.
So that's what I said, "My life is fixing to change, isn't it?"
"That's right," was all he said.
We paused then with my hand lying heavy on my dog and Clayton Waagner standing in the
doorway with his hand resting easy on his holstered gun.
Finally I said, "So what are you doing here?"
He asked me if I had heard that anyone suspected him of sending hundreds of letters
filled with what was supposed to be anthrax powder to abortion clinics and Planned
Parenthood offices around the country.
I told him I thought it was unlikely anyone would suspect him since he was on the run
and obviously wouldn't have the means to do something like that.
He took a seat near my desk and said, "Well, it was me that did it."
I certainly did not want to call the man with a pistol in his lap a liar, but I could
not hide my continuing skepticism.
Over the next hour of so, Clayton Waagner showed me evidence that proved that, not
only had he actually sent hundreds of anthrax threats to hundreds of abortion
clinics, Planned Parenthood, The National Abortion Federation, etc. offices, but he
had also staked out 42 abortion workers so that it was only a matter of time until he
would assassinate them all.
I even managed to get him to let me record his story.
When he left, he tied me up with duct tape so that it too many long minutes before I
could untie myself.
I immediately called 911 and cooperated fully with the police. But when the police
left they took my recorded interview with Clayton Waagner. I am trying to get that
tape so I can post it on the Internet for you to hear. It is very important that
the information on that tape be made available because Clayton Waagner has an escape
clause built into his plan to assassinate 42 abortion workers. The details of that
escape clause are on the taped interview I conducted. But the police in Carrollton,
Georgia have it now and I cannot presently get them to even give me a copy.
If you have any suggestions about how to get that tape back, I'd sure appreciate
hearing from you.

The 'Patriot Act'
To the Editor:
Some of the worst legislation ever to come out of Washington was recently passed in the name of freedom, patriotism, and the "American way." Most people were probably too busy waving their flags to even notice.
This article from Insight Magazine (Police State) confirms what many of us have suspected all along with the sweeping passage of so many "anti-terrorism" laws. Rep. Ron Paul of TX confirms that the PATRIOT ACT was passed without a written copy of the bill being made available to members of congress!
Even though each member of congress swears an oath to support the Constitution, many of them have never even read it, much less know what it contains. It would probably be a good idea for all Americans to re-read the Constitution. Instead of just flying the flag as blind subjects contributing to tyranny, reading and understanding the principles behind the flag would make us all better advocates of freedom. After all, the only rights you have are the ones you know about and can adequately defend.
See for yourself how the Bill of Rights have been gutted by this bill. Also, take note of how your public servants voted.

Restoring Public 'Order'
To the Editor:
On Tuesday, October 30, 2001, Drew Heiss and George Wilson were sentenced to one year each for "not standing back" and letting the innocent be dragged off to death. While on a public sidewalk, they went within 25 feet of the sacred door to the killing-center, hence Wisconsin Attorney General James Doyle (who is running for governor), commenced persecution, bent on righting this gross wrong, and to restore public order to the community (as we heard his henchman and the judge refer to repeatedly).
Drew Heiss and George Wilson declared our King's law and gospel and offered help to mom's. Something the state cannot tolerate. So Christians go to jail and the bodycount of the preborn escalates, their blood crying out from the ground to God. Meanwhile our country is bombing Afghanistan in order to "preserve" this way of life.
These men are to report to jail on December 28th. If you would like to send them a word of blessing or encouragement, you can send it to us at Missionaries to the Preborn P.O. Box 26931 Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53226 and we will get it to them. Both of these men have wives and children. Drew has five little ones 8 years old and younger at home. I know your love and kindness would be appreciated.
Pastor Matt Trewhella
Pastor Brutalized by Police & Press
To the Editor:
Last Thursday, a number of media sources broadcast the news that Pastor Matt Trewhella, founder of Missionaries to the Preborn, was arrested in Bloomington, Illinois and charged with several crimes, including obstructing police and assault. Some of the same reports included claims that during a pro-life outreach at Normal Community High School, persons with MTP ‘chased’ students and ‘forced them to take’ literature.
With regard to the latter claims, no such things happened. I headed up the outreach at Normal Community High. We simply stood on the public sidewalk offering pro-life literature and gospel tracts to students. Just as we were about to leave, a vice principle of the school verbally assailed me, struck my hand as I offered literature to a student, and then broke my video camera when I began to tape his tirade. Police arriving on the scene then claimed that we were on school property and read me my rights. In the end, we left with no charges because we were not on school property and had done nothing wrong.
The incident involving Pastor Trewhella took place in Bloomington, which is Normal’s sister city. It began when a Bloomington police officer arrived at a picket MTP was doing on a busy street. The officer exited his car and with a red face told me, "We are sick of this cr-p. You have been run off three or four other places, and you are leaving here right now. It is over. Pack it in right now or you are all going to be arrested." Not wanting to throw fuel on the officer’s fire, I quietly explained that there were some constitutional issues about which we needed to talk. At the same time, I called Pastor Trewhella on a two-way radio and requested that he bring a video camera to the scene, which he did. I continued to try to reason with the police officer in a quiet and, I hoped, calming voice while Matt stood about eight feet away and taped the scene.
Suddenly, without a word from Matt or any provocation or warning, the officer literally jumped Matt, wrenched away his video camera, and slammed him face down onto the sidewalk. He then dropped a knee into Matt’s back, violently twisted his right arm, and handcuffed him. Matt ended up spending several hours in jail. For over an hour of that time, he was handcuffed. After he was bailed out, Matt was taken to an emergency room where he was diagnosed with several injuries to his back, arm, and neck which required treatment and pain medication. At this time, he is experiencing much pain from the injuries and may need follow up medical care.
I am a witness that throughout the entire episode just described, Pastor Matt showed remarkable restraint, even when enduring pain at the hands of the police officer and, in fact, shared the gospel with his attacker while on the way to jail. Likewise, all persons with MTP showed great restraint during the incident, staying at their posts while I dealt with the situation. Obviously, the Bloomington Police Department has put themselves in a very precarious situation legally, especially since the attack on Pastor Trewhella is on video tape and was witnessed by a number of people. At the same time, Pastor Matt Trewhella and members of Missionaries to the Preborn have given the Bloomington Police Department and the public a very good Christian witness of which the Body of Christ can be proud, regardless of the picture the police and press are trying to paint.

The USA in Distress
To the Editor:
If you see a US flag upside down, it is a sign of distress. During this time of national mourning and with many calling for us to petition God for His blessing, why don’t we get really honest and begin to recognize that our country is in distress and not mourning. It is not God’s blessing that we need, it is His mercy. There is only one problem though; His mercy is not available to the proud or the impenitent.
Consider with me for a moment; on September 11, approximately 6,000 people were killed during this tragedy. What makes it a tragedy is that they were killed without due process that found them guilty of a crime they were innocent. Let’s consider something else of a very weighty measure; every day, on average, some 4,400 babies are killed without due process that would find them guilty of a crime they are innocent. If you do the math, that is equivalent to more than 15,000 September 11ths.
I ask you, why do we not mourn for that tragedy? Why do we not give of our money and time to rescue them from the rubble that entraps and entombs them? Why do we not cry out for the babies like we cry out for the victims in NYC, DC and Pennsylvania? Why do we not cry out against the lawmakers who allow this tragedy to go on like we cry out against the Taliban? Why are we protective of the abortionists while freely expressing our outrage and crafting law against the likes of Osama Bin Laden?
The answer is really very simple; we do not care unless it closely affects us. The dead babies do not affect our 401k like the merciless radicals of Osama Bin Laden. In reality, as a whole, we are selfish. It’s time that we recognize that fact and repent, perhaps then God will hear us and give us protected shores again. Without it, we can be assured there will be many more such insurgences. How do I know? I read the Bible (try reading Isaiah 10, Ezekiel 9 and Ezekiel 22 among others).

U.S. - Take Mote Out of Your Own Eye!
To the Editor:
I find it very interesting how all Americans are so judgmental in their summary of the terrorist actions of recent days. So condemning! Scowling Americans are not hesitant to shake their pointing finger and judge when their own interests are at stake, when their own freedoms threatened, when their own loved ones are killed. Even those liberals who are the most diligent in hailing the doctrine of tolerance are so forthrightly intolerant of the terrorists' "alternative lifestyle" and personal choices. When we preach that all morality is subjective and relative, we undermine the very basis of our condemnation of anyone else's personal moral choices.
Jesus said in Matthew 7 that we should not judge others unless we are willing to judge ourselves by the same standard. He said, "Thou hypocrite, first cast the mote of our your own eye, then you will see clearly to cast the mote out of your brother's eye." How can we justly condemn Osama, or anybody else for that matter, for killing innocent Americans, if we have justified and participated in the killing of over 42 million innocent Americans ourselves since Roe v. Wade? Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America, has been MUCH, MUCH more effective at its terrorist activities against little innocent boys and girls in America than Osama could ever dream! (Osama, if you really want to kill innocent Americans, you can come and work for an abortion clinic and the government will PAY you and PROTECT you as you terrorize innocent Americans!)
So, America, before you pluck the mote out of the eyes of Al Qaeda, please pull the log out of your own! Before you judge the Taliban for tolerating Osama bin Laden's terrorist activities, judge yourself for tolerating Planned Parenthood's terrorist activities. Before you condemn Osama for killing 5,000 innocent Americans, repent of tolerating and participating in the murder of almost that many innocent Americans EVERY DAY for the past thirty years!
Praying to God and saying "God bless you" is now politically-correct, much to the ACLU's dismay, I am sure. But our prayers are filthy rags in God's sight if our hands are stained with the innocent blood, and in Isaiah 1, God said that He refuses to hear such prayers, but will visit judgment swiftly upon such a hypocritical nation.
Osama's right about one thing. We are the "great Satan" figuratively speaking, spreading our Hollywood filth and sexual perversion and population control programs and socialism (via the New York-stationed United Nations) around the world. But there's hope for America. If we turn to the God of our forefathers in repentance, He will remember the covenant He made with our fathers and He will preserve the freedoms acknowledged in our founding documents. If we humble ourselves and forsake our own wicked ways, He will forgive us and hear our prayers. If we judge ourselves, we will not be judged. If we protect our innocent, then God will protect us.

Sharing the Pulpit
To the Editor:
On Friday I saw and heard an astounding thing. At the National Cathedral, Billy Graham was sharing the pulpit with a Muslim Imam. As I listened on my car radio, the person giving the invocation addressed his prayer to the "God of Abraham, God of Mohammed and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." The Muslim cleric prayed to "Allah, the compassionate and merciful."
I heard another media report yesterday or today that indicated that it was President Bush who insisted upon a multi-faith service. What is next? Will President Bush and Billy Graham hold services with a Wiccan priestess, a Hindu swami, a Tibetan Buddhist monk, and an African witch doctor? Why were these groups not represented? What about the native American religions?
Oh, that Billy Graham would have stood up and walked out of this service! The God I worship is a jealous God who does not like to share worship services or worshippers with other gods.
This should scare us. The Old Testament shows that Israel, before the captivity, was a religous place, where the worship of the true God took place side by side with the worship of Baal and other Gods (E.g., Ezekiel 9: 6-18).

'Pro-Life' No More
To the Editor:
Let me tell you why I will no longer call myself "Pro-Life". Yes, as a physician, I am acutely aware of the overwhelming scientific evidence of the humanity of the unborn child, and as an American citizen, I am also keenly aware of the cruelty and malice of those American leaders who would reject this evidence in order to justify keeping abortion legal. I am against the murder of unborn children in all cases save the clear case in which it should be done in order to save the life of the mother, such as in ectopic pregnancies. I am also against Bush's position of using tax-dollars to exploiting the carcasses of murdered human beings.
However, I have come to the conclusion that law without sanction is not law at all, but rather, advice or suggestion. In other words, if we embrace a law, yet do not endorse a punishment upon transgressors of that law, then we have only publicly proclaimed "good advice" - we have not really declared a law. There must be a penalty befitting the crime which provides the "teeth" behind the law - there must be justice for law-breakers if law is to be more than toothless, pathetic slobber from an all-talk-no-action "pro-life" politician. If these so-called "pro-life" politicians and ministers were just as verbally vigilant against these baby-butchers as they are against those who would "take the law into their own hands" and violently injure or kill these baby-butchers, the sixth commandment might once against become the law of the land!
The law says, "Thou shalt not murder!" Find it in the Ten Commandments, Exodus chapter 20. But what should be done to those who break this law? Exodus 21 has the answer, and I hesitate not the admit the Biblical truth; murders should be executed! The leaders of our nation are obligated to be "a terror" to those who break God's law; Bush and our other national, state, county, and city leaders are to each be "a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil" (Romans 14:1-4). It is evil to murder, and the government should punish those who break God's law as God says that they should be punished. God even explicitly stated that if an unborn child is injured or dies at the hand of another man, then "life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot..." (Exod.21:22-25). "Life for life!" -could it be stated any clearer by the Author of Scripture? God, in His law, does not discriminate against the unborn child - the murder of innocent human beings, whether inside or outside the womb, is a crime punishable by death. The Bible says that the innocent blood defiles the land, and the land can only be cleansed by the blood of him that shed it.
So I relinquish the universal adoration of "life", because God says that those who break the sixth commandment should die at the witness of two or three. I am "pro-life" no more. Henceforth, I will be "anti-abortion", diligently seeking to cleanse our land of the guilt and woe brought upon it by the shedding of innocent blood.
For "the least of these,"

No Place To Hide
To the Editor:
Well, now all those who have been promoting pro-abortion Republican Presidential candidates for the last eight years have no place to hide. They will either snap back to reality, or continue to descend into a mind deterioration that leaves them whimpering supporters of the pro-abortion agenda, while professing in low tones that they are pro-life.
While such establishment lackeys as Jerry Falwell were out quickly to tell all the pro-lifers who were watching cable TV last night how "proud" he was of President George W. Bush, the truth about what Bush did lies elsewhere.
Before nailing down the case at hand, let's recall that, leaving his motives or level of understanding aside for the moment, George W. Bush was a pro-abortion candidate, and George W. Bush is a pro-abortion President, by the pre-1992 National Right to Life standards. He says he will NOT use an anti-abortion litmus test to appoint federal Judges or Supreme Court Judges. He has said this consistently -- and I believe him. He has said that he does not believe that now is the time to push for a Human Life Amendment recognizing the personhood of the unborn child. In fact, there is no other time but "now" to work in, so this is a pro-abortion position, formerly used only by those politicians who were "personally opposed" to abortion, but favored no change in the law.
Most blatantly, candidate G.W. Bush stated IN THE NATIONALLY TELEVISED DEBATE AGAINST Al Gore, that he would not challenge the Clinton administration's decision to legalize RU486. He even went so far as to state the absurdity that he didn't think, as President, he would have the authority to do so! This didn't cause National Right to Life or the Christian Coalition to endorse Constitution Party candidate Howard Phillips or Reform Party candidate Patrick Buchanan who were taking the pro-life stand on these issues -- so that we could get a real pro-life movement started in politics again. No, they covered their eyes and ears, and stuck with a candidates winking a RU486, G.W. Bush.
And, sure enough, while President W. Bush and his advisors spent 5 months absorbing themselves in their trivial and virtually meaningless tax cut (in light of the unjust tax burden now on families), they couldn't find a minute to recall the Clinton RU486 decision, and put the whole matter back under study due to the threats RU486 poses to the health of the women, to say nothing of their unborn children.
So, sure enough, in July 2001 the RU486 abortion pill went on sale in Cincinnati at Planned Parenthood's office, and throughout the nation; also deceptive major ads started running in "women's" magazines.
President W. Bush's non attention to this issue is, I think, what we used to call a sin of OMISSION. What more pro-abortion move could any administration, at any time, make -- which would be more anti-life than refusing to use its clearly available power to stop the legalization and release of the RU486 abortion pill?
And, while the following activity does not violate National Right to Life's non-standards, Bush heartily campaigned with pro-abortion Republicans such as then Governor Christy Todd Wittman (for partial birth abortion murder, too!) of New Jersey and Governor Tom Ridge of Pennsylvania -- calling them "great governors."
Now to the case at hand, somehow it is OK in the mind of President W. Bush to allow experimentation on stem cell lines coming from human embryos who have already been killed. And W. Bush says this in the same breath as he states that the human embryo is a human life that must be treated with respect.
Let's change this a little, but not much, and not in principle. Let's say President G.W. Bush had said, "These 60 lines of stem cells have come from 2 year old girls and boys who were killed; but since they have already been killed, I will fund research on the stem cell lines that came from their deaths. But don't let it happen again." How does that sound? Whether you are using Dr. Mengele type methods by experimenting "for the master race" on cells derived from human embryos who were killed, or from two year old girls who were killed, it is the same thing IN PRINCIPLE. The end does not justify the means, even if National Right to Life continues to build its record of traitorous ignominy by being "as pleased as punch" at such a decision.
Never mind that there is not a shred of evidence that we need to use stem cells from embryos to get favorable results in research. We can get favorable results from stem cells from adults, and from stem cells from human placentas, neither of which would ever involve killing a human life in the form of a human embryo -- or in the form of a two year old little girl.
While clouding the situation last night, Jerry Falwell did say one good thing. He said (paraphrasing) that we would be blessed more in finding cures by adhering to God's laws and using the methods that are open to us within His laws, rather than by trying to run around His laws. It's a shame he feels the need to lionize a light weight who is de facto pro-abortion, such as Republican President G.W. Bush. I guess Reverend Falwell, like so many of the old Guard leaders from the pro-life movement, doesn't want to mess up their chance to "get their pat on the head at the White House" from Dick Cheney -- to steal a thought I heard from Constitution Party leader Howard Phillips some time ago.
But the vast majority of pro-life leaders have long ago decided that they are not willing to stand for principle out in the political cold with Howard Phillips, Pat Buchanan, and the peasants in the pro-life movement; no, they want to be inside "at the table" where they can bask in the glow of the warm fireplace of power, even if it means selling out the hundreds of thousands of people who have sent them money over the years to do the right thing no matter what, and even if it means selling out the unborn children.
Alan Keyes, on Fox Cable News on Hannity & Colmes, stated that he likes to go to first principles, and he sees in President W. Bush's decision the willingness to eat the fruit of the violation of first principles, namely the principle of respecting and preserving the right to life for all human beings, including humans at the first moments of their lives, human embryos.
For while the self-professed but confused pro-lifers are thinking only of cures and good things, I feel confident in suggesting that the Patricia Irelands and the evil Ruling Elite she fronts for have all kinds of unwholesome things in mind as well. That's why they have wanted unlimited access to aborted babies, especially babies killed by partial birth abortion, that's why they have been frantically working to understand the human genome, and that's why they want unlimited permission and massive funding to do stem cell research and other research on embryos.
I'm not saying that President G.W. Bush has moral instincts as bad as Clinton or Gore, but, whether he knows it or not, he is part of the program of the pro-eugenics, pro-abortion Ruling Elite behind both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party at the national level. Whether he realizes it or not, he has moved their program forward. As all the pro-abortion people who appeared on TV said last night, such as Patricia Ireland (former President of N.O.W.), amidst crocodile tears, "It's a first step." Yes, and that step has included getting millions of pro-lifers to accept IN PRINCIPLE the idea of using cells from human beings that have been immorally killed.
Keep up the great and unique work you are doing at Covenant News.

Refusing To See
To the Editor:
Thanks for calling a spade a spade in declaring that Bush has advocated murder.
The fact of the matter is, many Christians are playing right into the hands of the enemy, comparing human beings in their earliest stages to "bacteria". It is THESE people who "ought to be ashamed."
Your previous writer also apparently believes that your words are so persuasive, that folks are going to run out and shoot scientists. Now that's a good reason to shut up and refuse to tell the truth, eh?
Folks, when are you going to wake up and be consistent about your pro-life views? A human is a human is a human. Does it matter whether the human is 1 day old or 100 years old? Not to God.
If you allow research, even on the cells from the unborn human beings that have already been slaughtered, you simply allow for the progress of a science which will cry out for more dead babies. And more. And more.
What is truly irresponsible is not Covenant News calling stem cell research "murder," but Christians refusing to see that it IS!

You Ought to be Ashamed!
To the Editor:
You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Stem cell research kills no human life anymore than taking an antibiotic kills human life in the form of bacteria. Stem cell research may be the breakthrough that saves hundreds or thousands of lives and improves the quality of life of thousands of others. Calling it murder is irresponsible and intended only to promote hysteria. Further, it incites people looking for an excuse to go out and kill innocent scientists and physicians trying to improve the quality of life of others. Shame on you.

Save It for the Tabloids
To the Editor:
I am sorry to see your headline, "Bush okays murder." I expect that kind of journalism from Enquirer, but not from someone who is supposed to be a beacon of truth. I have heard and read President Bush's statement concerning stem cell research, and believe he made a very thoughtful, prayerful, and wise decision. I know you could send me a long list of reasons why you disagree, but I 'm not interested in your response. I simply believe that as a Christian news agent, you should be more responsible with your headlines. You and I both know that the president has not authorized anyone's murder. Please save the melodrama for the tabloids!
